The Cambodia Institute of Development Study (CIDS) is an independent, local research institute, founded in 2004 by a team of Cambodian intellectuals. Our mission is to build a knowledge foundation to support economic development in Cambodia, especially to bring to light the reality at the local, provincial level. As part of this mission, CIDS is devoted to developing and nurturing the analytical capacity of Cambodian intellectuals, especially those with limited opportunities.

To sum it up in a few words, CIDS is:
